“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearl’s. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
Have you ever seen something you absolutely had to have? Come on you remember, you wanted that new toy or bicycle in the store and often your parents said “no” or I remember as an adult wanting a laptop computer and being so anxious as I was buying it.
Have you ever been in a relationship where you thought to yourself, wow this is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. Pretty amazing and perhaps strange feeling. I know it may sound crazy but I loved Josie the very first time I met her, it was just love at first site. I was excited and had butterflies in my stomach whenever we were together. You just know!
Have you ever admired what someone else has? I’m sure we all do. I respect and deeply admire my parents and grandparents marital commitments. I wanted what they had, because to me it was special.
God gives us all of this. We are the treasure! He created us in our Mother’s womb to be the person he intended us to be! Sometimes we hunt for the treasure of love, joy, and peace; but it is always present.
The bad stuff, crime, all of the suffering, sickness and death all of that will be wiped away. The buried treasure awaits. Are we seeking the opportunity for the buried treasure? Do you belong to a community that tells us about God, and the “Kingdom of God” that treasure which is buried in the undiscovered pearl.
We all have those things that we must have, relationships that we want to continue to foster, and admiration for those that you want to emulate. Can’t we also spend that effort loving God and doing our part on Earth to find that Pearl? I’m searching are you?
Be blessed!!!
